Lynn Dobson, Chair

Lynn Dobson serves as Chair of the Board of Directors. Lynn is retired after a lengthy career with Peel Regional Police and Peel Regional Police Association as a civilian member. At the conclusion of her career, Lynn was the Chief Administrative Officer with the Association. She has always lived in Brampton and has previous volunteer experience with Habitat for Humanity Brampton. Lynn enjoys supporting various charitable causes through cycling and running.   Lynn also volunteers at St. Andrews Foodbank in Brampton.

Muneerah Kanji, Vice Chair

Muneerah Kanji serves as the Vice Chair of the Board.  Muneerah is a seasoned senior financial executive with over 20 years of experience in both private and public companies spanning many industries; she is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds a Master of Business Administration from Queen’s University. Volunteerism and giving back to the community have always been an integral part of Muneerah’s life since her youth and she continues this involvement today in various capacities with her daughter’s school & activities as well as within her community. She lives in Brampton with her husband and has an adult son and a school-aged daughter.

Kyle Kroeker, Treasurer

Kyle Kroeker serves as Treasurer of the Board of Directors. Kyle has his CPA, CA designation and has over 10 years of public accounting experience. Kyle is currently a Senior Manager in the Audit & Assurance group at MacGillivray Chartered Professional Accountants in Mississauga. In his spare time, Kyle enjoys playing recreational hockey, baseball and golf, and spending time with his wife and daughter in Milton.

Chris Cummins, Director

Chris Cummins has worked at GlaxoSmithKline Inc. for seven years, currently as Lead Private Markets and Strategic Negotiation, and previously as the Chief of Staff for the General Manager of GSK and as Legal Counsel. Chris is a licensed lawyer in Ontario. He volunteers his time with the Salvation Army and on various pro bono legal initiatives. Chris lives in Guelph with his wife and two young sons.

Melodie Mason, Director
Melodie Mason is a Human Resources professional with extensive leadership and business experience.  Currently she is the Vice President, Total Rewards with CSA Group.  Melodie graduated from Brock University, has numerous HR certificates and recently completed the Chartered Director Program at The Director’s College.  Melodie has lived in the Town of Mono for over 24 years.  She is married with one adult daughter.
Sandra Starr, Director

Sandra Starr brings 20 years of business leadership including forecasting, manufacturing, quality, sales, human resources, and currently manages a manufacturing plant in Orangeville. Sandra has been active as a volunteer in many capacities including being a Big Sister, Access Supervisor at DCAFS, coaching children’s sports teams, volunteering as trainer for health and safety initiatives in the community, and serving two terms on a Board of Directors for the Plastics Industry. She is originally from Peterborough. She has lived most of her life in East Garafraxa near Orangeville. Sandra is married and has 5 adult children and 1 school-aged child still at home.

Ann Atkins, Secretary

Ann Atkins has worked for PointClickCare Technologies Inc. for 12 years as a seasoned Executive Assistant in the Health Care Sector, and is passionate about quality healthcare. Ann resides in the town of Erin, with a love for all animals (especially horses and dogs) & enjoys the countryside. Ann wants to make a difference by giving back in the community, and also volunteers fund raising for CAMH annually.

Janette Panhuis, Director

Janette Panhuis has extensive experience in the healthcare field having started her work career as a registered nurse with Toronto General Hospital and now as Chief Operating Officer at PHRI, an academic research institute affiliated with McMaster University. Janette’s previous volunteer activity focused mainly in her children’s school community with Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) including chair of the regional PIC.  Living in Georgetown, she places high value in contributing to community, is passionate about healthcare, and is eager to be part of providing quality end-of-life care.

Margaret Paan, Executive Director
Margaret joined Bethell Hospice as an Executive Director in July 2019. Margaret graduated from the University of Toronto with a Masters of Nursing Administration Degree. She has extensive experience in the Health Care Sector, most recently serving as the Director of the Central West Palliative Care Network at the Central West LHIN. In this role, Margaret collaborated with local partners to improve hospice palliative care across all patient populations, illness trajectories and healthcare settings. Margaret has experience managing complex teams and organizations with a focus on accountabilities and efficiencies.  Margaret is diplomatic, collaborative, a problem solver, enthusiastic, a team builder and a strategic thinker. She lives in rural Dufferin with her busy and beautiful family.
