Trained volunteers are available to provide companionship and support via phone or video calls to clients in the community. Living with illness, caring for someone who is ill, and grieving the death of a loved one can all be lonely and isolating experiences. With social distancing in effect, these feelings can be even more intense. Weekly connection with a volunteer, who can check in and chat, can be a valuable coping tool, providing an opportunity to debrief thoughts and feelings about your experiences, as well as the social benefit of connecting with others.
Clients are able to access support either by phone, or through video calls via the online platform Zoom Meetings. This service can be scheduled any day of the week from 8:00 a.m. — 8:00 p.m. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, there is no cost to access this service.
